50 hour Yin & Myofascial Release Teacher Training

2026 December 1- 7 ・ at shizen yoga, Nozawa Onsen Japan ・

Co-hosted with Restore Yoga Training

As the landscape turns white and the season turns us inward, we go Y-in.

I'm so honoured to be offering this training at Shizen, collaborating with some of my most respected teachers — Amelia Schrader and Dana Diament from Restore Yoga Training.

Six essential modalities. One certification. A week to actually understand fascia, stillness, and how to hold space for both.

Co-taught by Rowie Geraerts — 500 E-RYT, 14+ years teaching yoga, 5 years living and teaching right here in Nozawa Onsen — alongside Amelia Schrader (founder of Axis Yoga) and Dana Diament (Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist).

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Six modalities, woven into one certification: Yin Yoga, Myofascial Release, Breathwork, Mindfulness, Chinese Medicine, and Sequencing.

Module 1 — Anatomy Joint layers, discs, range of motion, and the 58 muscles that make up a body. The science underneath the stretch.

Module 2 — Yin Yoga & Sequencing Where yin came from, its components, and a 44-posture library — props, variations, and contraindications included — plus a sequencing methodology you can actually teach from.

Module 3 — Myofascial Release The principles of fascia work, 37 techniques, trigger points, and timing.

Module 4 — Breath, Mindfulness & Chinese Medicine The nervous system and respiration, 11 breathwork techniques, 7 mindfulness practices, and the Daoist theory behind it all — yin-yang, the Five Elements, meridians.

TRAINING DAY SCHEDULE

Days run 7:30am to 6pm, with a generous 2-hour lunch break to wander the village, eat, or soak in an onsen — plus shorter breaks woven throughout to reset and refuel. Lecture, practice, and sequence review, in rhythm with each other.

On Day 5, there's an optional Snow Monkey Tour — a chance to watch wild macaques bathe in the hot springs nearby.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

This training is for yoga teachers who want to deepen and diversify their practice — and just as much for pilates instructors, personal trainers, and wellness professionals who want to understand fascia and stillness at a deeper level. There are no prerequisites. If you're drawn to this work, you're welcome here.

The training is YACEP registered (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider).
